Emmanuel Blanchard

DIRECTOR

Quito, Ecuador. 1984. Studied Film at the Sorbonne in Paris, France. He has edited 10 feature films, both fictions and documentaries, and has worked on other films and series inside and outside the country, in the areas of image and sound post-production. He has directed 2 professional short films and is an associate producer of the Corporación La República Invisible. He teaches editing at the Universidad de las Américas and directs his debut documentary Motorcycle Fever.

 

In 2010, he founded with his brother Sebastien, the company Caberu Productions in Paris to co-produce Sin Otoño, Sin Primavera (Without Autumn, Without Spring) with producers Arturo Yépez, Isabel Carrasco and Jhonny Hendrix. The film was released in theaters in France on June 1, 2016. 

 

In 2017, Emmanuel shot his first professional short film Diferencias (2019), selected in more than 10 festivals around the world.

Julia Silva

PRODUCER

She studied audiovisual production and direction at the National University of Cordoba - Argentina. She is the founder of the independent cultural production company LA CINTA CORTA which works on audiovisual and artistic projects in Ecuador, Latin America and Europe. 

She has directed and produced two professional short films: Amelia (2007) and Crisálida (2016), the latter winning Best Male Performance at La Orquídea Festival - Ecuador.

 

She has worked in the directing, scripting and casting teams of feature films like DeCaravana (2012), Saudade (2014), Tan Distintos (2015), Alba (2016), Chuquiragua (2017), Cenizas (2018).

 

Julia Silva has produced 5 international projects: a Latin American Traveling Film Festival for 6 years, trainings, forums and screenings to educate the public in Ecuador and in several Latin American and European countries. 

 

She has twice won the National Fund for the Promotion of Ecuadorian Cinema, has alliances and co-productions with producers, companies and national and international organizations. Motorcycle Fever is her first feature documentary as a producer.

LA REPUBLICA INVISIBLE

 

La República Invisible is an Ecuadorian production company, created with the aim of producing young and independent films from the Andean region. We are interested in getting involved in projects that are risky from an artistic point of view, that experiment with the possibilities of cinematographic language. Sin otoño, sin primavera (2012) is the first feature film, which won 8 awards, including Ibermedia and Global Film Initiative. The box office in Ecuador had 41,000 spectators. The film was sold in the United States, Brazil, France, and is distributed by Outsider Pictures. Our second film, the documentary La bisabuela tiene Alzheimer (2012), won the DOCTV award in 2012 and is shown on public television channels in 14 countries. We are currently working on the projects: Yellow Glasses (in distribution), Silverfish, documentary debut feature in co-production with SaNoSi Productions (in post-production). La playa de los enchaquirados (in post-production), Fiebre de Motocicleta, a debut documentary in production and Mariposas en el estómago (in writing).
